Where will I be this weekend?
I like to have my trips planned a little ahead of time. So, I always post my trips for the coming week/weekend here. I try to post them the Thursday before the weekend.
Plus I am always going out hiking on my own, so I this page is to keep those who want to know where I will be, informed. This is also a safety precaution just in case I do not return on time. Haven't ran into any trouble I couldn't handle yet. But...
I have decided on my plans for this weekend.
Saturday, June 3, 2006 - Wascootch Ridge or Opal Ridge.
My friend Mark wants to hike Wascootch ridge with out leaving the ridge. There is one spot you have to climb around. Last year when I soloed the ridge I ended hiking one section 3 times because I missed the trail to hike around and had to hike back along the ridge to find it. Mark has some rock climbing experience and is bringing a rope to help us get down the crux. It is only a 25 ft cut in the ridge. If there is too much snow on the ridge we are going to take a look at Opal Ridge and if it is raining Grizzly Creek.

Sunday, June 4, 2006 - Mt. Baldy
Since I did not get to climb this mountain in April, too much snow. I am planning this for this weekend. This mountain has three variations on it that I know of:
- We can do the classic Scramble route and return.
- Hike up to Baldy Pass, then climb up from there and down the classic route.
- Climb up the classic scramble route and continue along the ridge line towards Badly pass. But take a side trip to the last summit and then down the bowl to the start location.
Any variation other than 1 has bit of tricky climbing involved.
