Saturday, July 2, 2005, 9 AM - Ribbon Creek Lot.

Today I am off to Memorial Lakes. The sky is overcast and it has been raining. I have done this trip before it will be old had for me. Today I am joined by my nephew James. Time to get going.

12:30 PM - First Lake.

With the rain last night we have been wiping water off the trees as we passed. We are soaking wet. The view has not changed, but the waterfall from the third lake is flowing more than usual.

1:30 PM - Second Lake
Lunch time

The lake is beautiful as ever. Still the best of the three. As soo as we stopped we were investigated by the local Peka. We spent at least an hour taking pictures and watching his antics, soon he was joined by a second one. We did not like the weather coming over the ridge so we headed back.

5:30 PM - Back at car

Lucky we turned around, got rained on as we headed down from the lake.
